A RACIST I’M NOT A CHRISTIAN I AM

A RACIST I’M NOT  A CHRISTIAN I AM

A day ago I was accused of being a racist by a writer of a blog which took me by surprise.

The definition of a racist is a person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to othrs.

I spoke up in a blog against Obamacare or “Affordable Care Act.” I really didn’t know how to handle this slam. Why is it the left always resort to name calling? One of the things I described was about the lack of care we seniors (62 and over) will receive.

This comes from Heritage Foundation.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) makes dramatic changes in the country’s health care system, especially in Medicare, that will seriously affect American seniors. Indeed, much of the health law’s new spending is financed by spending reductions in the Medicare program.

Less Access to Care

Obamacare mandates $716 billion in Medicare payment reductions from 2013 to 2022. However, contrary to the way they are often portrayed, these cuts are not aimed at specific instances of waste, fraud, and abuse. Instead, they are across-the-board changes in Medicare payment formulas for a variety of Medicare providers, including hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, and hospice agencies.

Despite the constant political rhetoric that Medicare payment reductions affect only providers and not beneficiaries, funding cuts for Medicare services will directly affect those who depend on those services. If Obamacare’s major reductions are implemented by Congress over the coming decade, seniors’ ability to access Medicare services will surely diminish. In fact, the Medicare Trustees project that the lower Medicare payment rates would cause 15 percent of hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies to become unprofitable by 2019, and this percentage would reach roughly 25 percent in 2030 and 40 percent by 2050.

This means that seniors would have an increasingly difficult time accessing care. As the Trustees explain:

Medicare’s payments for health services would fall increasingly below providers’ costs. Providers could not sustain continuing negative margins and would have to withdraw from serving Medicare beneficiaries or (if total facility margins remained positive) shift substantial portions of Medicare costs to their non-Medicare, non-Medicaid payers.

Fewer plan choices

In addition to the provider payment reductions, Obamacare significantly reduces payments to Medicare Advantage (MA) plans by an estimated $156 billion from 2013 to 2022. About 27 percent of all Medicare beneficiaries are enrolled in MA plans, a system of regulated and private plans competing against each other as an alternative to traditional Medicare. MA plans are attractive to beneficiaries because they offer more generous and comprehensive coverage than traditional Medicare by capping out-of-pocket costs and offering drug coverage

The woman whom I left message on her blog stated she has older parents. Well, for those of you who have older parents, I’d be worried. I was told when Obamacare was first enacted by my daughter, who is a nurse-practioner and an Obama supporter to get my knee surgery done before I turned 70 due to having to go before a board. Their decision would depend on whether I could have a replacement or not.

I’m concerned for my 87-year-old mother. Will a hospital refuse her service? Maybe I should start a petition on behalf of all seniors. Obama states medical insurance is a right to have medical care. If they are taking my rights away and the rights away from we older people, than I think we should sue the federal government.

I digress.  Never once did I mention Obama. I defended myself, and stated I had many African American friends. In fact, many years ago, my husband never knew who he, AFRICAN  was going to come home to because our home was a refuge for homeless women with children. One time in Colorado Springs, CO., the capital of the KKK, my husband, a Mexican, myself, a Caucasian, and an African American all lived under the same roof. I chidingly said, “We’re going to wake up one morning and find a cross burning in our front yard.” Sharyl and her son stayed with us twice at different times until she could get situated.

At one time, my best friend was an African American. In fact, she told me I was pregnant with my third child before I knew it.

I, also question the reason why this Christian woman allowed the person who wrote vulgarities to voice his opinions about me but deleted my attempt repair our friendship and accept each others differences in our political view point.

I did not resort to name calling. Although the human nature in me wanted to call her and the people who attacked me names. In my Sunday School lesson, this week, I once again reread what my responsibilities are as a Christian.

My responsibility is to not judge. I as a Christian am called to be a peacemaker in the lives we live and the examples we set. (Matt 5:9)  For me this is a hard commandment to follow. The judge in me wants to judge. The human in me wants to shout back. I guess I liken it to being a seven-year-old child and when someone calls them a name, they call the people or people a name back. But my responsibility is to humble myself and let the Lord do the judging.

No matter one’s age there are always lessons taught. Some are painful. The older I get, the more I hate strife.

I dislike the injustices occurring in this nation.

I dislike murders who murder because of differences in race or murder because they do not have what another person owns.

Plus, I dislike murderes who kill for the fun of it.

I dislike people who call people names because they don’t believe as they do.

I dislike the graft occurring in DC.

I dislike women and girls being sold into slavery.

I dislike liars and thiefs

I dislike murders by one group toward another sector of people because they do not believe as they do.

I dislike murders who kill because of race or because they want what they don’t have. On the other hand, there are those who kill for the fun of it.

I dislike those Republicans, who say they are going defend the constitution, turn around and betray us.

I dislike those, who let an Ambassador and the men who protected him, give up their lives because they don’t matter in the long scheme of things.

I dislike babies being aborted by the millions in a once Christian nation. Remember our money says, “In God we trust.”

I dislike a President closing all the embassies because it is his birthday, and this was the Muslim’s holy day.

I dislike in our nation, there are more and more homeless many because there are no jobs-where families are reduced to living in cars

I dislike the homelessness of the mentally ill because they do not have a place to go nor can they afford rent.

I dislike a women with three children struggling to put food on the table now facing a reduction in work hours to 32 hours or even 28 hours of work a week. The reason because businesses can no longer afford full time employees due to the “Affordable Care Act.” How is she going to survive?

I dislike that our President and the Senate not being willing to accept the same insurance as the rest of we Americans. If it is good for us, than why is it not good for them?  How fair is this?

Injustices are everywhere I turn. Whether they be in name calling or in the actions of others. How sad this is. I am troubled by everything I’ve written about. Yet, everyday something else rises up that is an injustice. I’m reminded we live in a fallen world. Satan runs rapid like a charging bull ready to hurt or maim physically or mentally the next victim.

Thank you for giving me the platform in which I could express my feelings. May God bless you all, and may He have mercy on the people in this country. The next blog is going to be next Sunday, October 3.

SLAVE MASTERS STEALERS OF INNOCENCE

Image

A  group of girls sit in a barren room all wearing the identical, blue dress. Their chairs faced a TV. Each child wears a number on the front of their chest. The cartoons play on while their faces lack any type of emotion. Their eyes are blank and empty.

A group of people watch the children from a two-way mirror. One girl looks brazenly into the mirror. Her number is 146. These girls are for rent to use for men’s sexual gratification. The people viewing these children are undercover. The group became so impressed with number 146, they wanted to grab each of the girls and rescue them, but knew this wouldn’t stop the slave owners. With heavy hearts, the group left the brothel and reported its location to the police. When the police arrived, number 146 was no longer present.

The people who viewed a spark of life in the face of this little girl were heart broken. They hoped to rescue her and the rest of the children. The people, at the time who visited this child prostitution ring, formed the organization Love 146. This group rescues children from the shackles of sexual slavery.

The US Department of Health Services states child slavery is the fastest growing industry in the world.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING

is the abducting of forcing, deceiving or recruiting of someone into working against their will. They exploit the children most commonly for the purpose of sexual exploitation.

Today, there are over 700,000 to one million children involved in trafficking and it’s growing.

HOW ARE THESE CHILDREN COERCED?

1. They are threatened.

2. They are harbored.

3. They are abducted.

4. They are deceived

     with promises of

      receiving payments

      or benefits.

HOW ARE THESE CHILDREN TARGETED?

They are found in neighborhoods where there is a lack of social power.

Sometimes parents give consent in hope of their children receiving an opportunity to excel. i.e. modeling, retail work

The lower, middle class can be vulnerable to these vultures who prey on the innocence of children.

In poor countries, parents are promised their children can stay with a wealthy family in the city.

Poor families sell their children for high end material possessions. One family sold their child for a flat screen TV.

HOW DO THEY CONTROL THE CHILDREN?

The slaveholders seek to control every aspect of the child’s life. They do this through violence. To the extent, the child is afraid to run away.,

The child trafficker owns the child’s birth certificate, national identity, passport and any other document. They strip the child of their distinctness.

The child is transported to another country or different state. On initial control of the child, they confine the girl to a locked room.  The girls are beat and raped the first forty-eight hours of their imprisonment. Even if they escape, some can’t speak the language of the country. They do not know anyone they can turn to.

The slave children are dependent on their slaveholders for food, clothing and shelter.

The child is lied to. They threaten to harm her parents and her siblings or kill them if they escape.

The sex slaves have to learn to comply with a smile to whatever demand is made of them sexually.

In some oriental countries, when the girls in a family reach preadolescence, they are taken to brothels for two weeks and advertised as virgins for sale. For one night, the John or client will pay $750 or more. A week later, the girl sees ten men a night for $2.50 each. When the two weeks are over, the child returns to her family and neighborhood to resume her normal life.

Less common is when a Chinese or Japanese family receives money in advance of the young girl’s development. Payments are made, and when the man is ready, the child is surrendered to the friend of the family.

LAWS

In 1904, twelve nations and the United States nullified the treaty of International Agreements For the Suppression of the White Slave Trade – which prohibited the procuration of girls for immoral purposes abroad.

WWI The League of Nations broad reaching document against slavery added children and placed “white slave trade to trafficking.”

1949 The United Nations General Assembly established the framework convention for Suppression of the Traffic in persons and of the Exploitation of the Prostitution of others-said slavery of women and children wasn’t compatible with human rights.  It called governments to accept procedures for punishment of anyone involved with sexual exploitation. This was ratified by half of the nations. The United States accepted this act and prosecutes all people involved with the transporting and harboring of children for slavery.

“The Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) of 2000 is the first comprehensive federal law to address trafficking in persons. The law provides a three-pronged approach that includes prevention, protection, and prosecution. The TVPA was reauthorized through the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) of 2003, 2005, 2008, and 2013.”

AN EXAMPLE

Marie was an eight-year-old girl.  She lived with her mother and her mom’s live-in boyfriend. Her Dad left his family long ago when she was but two.  He never contacted them after he left their home.  One evening when Marie’s mother was at work, the man who was suppose to parent her came into her bedroom and demanded she give him oral sex. She was threatened, if she told. he would hurt her mother and her little brother

Marie decided to run away.  She slid out of her bedroom window and hit the streets. Days later, a kind man, she thought, found her hungry, He promised her food, a bath and even new clothes. This didn’t happen. As soon as she entered his home, he bound, raped and beat her.  He moved her to another state where men of all ages used her.

Despondent, she tried to commit suicide. Her slaveholder found her. Beat her. The second time, Marie tried to commit suicide, she slit her wrists, and she was found out on the streets. Authorities placed Marie in a shelter for run away children.

In the short time, Marie stayed at the shelter she discovered her smile.  However, two weeks later, Marie found her slave owner. Within a short period of time, she attempted to commit suicide.

This time little Marie at ten years of age died. No tears sped for Marie as her small, crumbled body lay in a large pool of blood. Marie’s face can change to any name you want to give to a young girl. They find life hopeless. They become despondent. They find life not worth living.

These slave masters enjoy sucking the innocence of our girls for money. Instead of have baby dolls to play with, they find themselves trinkets and toys of hungry men. This is everywhere. For me, in my anger, I feel the men who are the slave masters, the men who are clients, need to be hung. Get rid of the demand, and you don’t need the supply.

I must apologize for my lateness in posting. Circumstances prevented me from blogging. However, I will try to blog on the posted designated days. In the mean time, tell me what you think. Do you have any questions? I’ll try to answer them to the best of my knowledge.  God bless you and take care.

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH CHRISTIANS MARTYERS

Image

Today, a video displayed Christian children murdered. A man picked up what looked to be perhaps a three-year-old girl who was beheaded. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Once again the horror and almost disbelief hit my brain. I wanted to hit, strike out, and hurt the Syrians rebels who gave praise to Allah as they beheaded her. This is only one small example of the way Muslim radicals treat Christians. (Video on http//www.shariaunveiled.wordpress.com)

Professor Majid Khaddiuri, world’s leading authority on Islam law and jurisdiction states, “There are just as many Muslim radicals as there are American radicals. The term Spoel (ghanima) is applied specifically to property acquired by force from non-Muslims included (moveable and immoveable), but also persons whether in the capacity of asna (prisoner of war) or sabi (women and children). If the slave were a woman the master’s permitted to have sexual connection with her as a concubine.”(http://www.Clarianproject.org/analysis/rapeamd-murder-pak

Countries around the world

09/08/2013 Maaloula, Syria Three Christian children murdered in their homes while six were held hostages. (Nothing was recorded of what happened to the hostages.)

09/03/2013 Adu, Nigeria Nine Christian villagers including two children machined gunned in their home by Muslim terrorists.

09/01/2013 Beledweyne, Somalia a Christian mother was murdered in front of her child. She was targeted by Islamic radicals.

08/06/2012 Ain Shams, Egypt a ten-year-old Christian was shot through the heart in front of the church by pro Muslim Brotherhood Activists.

08/06/2013 Richmond, CA a recent Muslim convert on a mission from Allah stabed a store clerk to death.

07/29/2013 Kano, Nigeria  Forty-five people were massacred and fifteen injured by Islamic bombers who targeted the Christian district and churches

01/15/2013 Haugesund, Norway A Muslim stabs two Christians who converted from Islam. .

The incidents continues.  These are only an sample of the number of murderous incidents occurring across the world.

Here is one more story about a Christian woman who took a sip of water from a Muslim cup. She was tried and found guilty and sentenced to death. Aasiya Noreen “Asia” ’dictated to her husband a book called “Blasphemy” with hopes of giving money to her family while she sits in prison, Here’s one excerpt of an reader’s  comments about her life. “

The true, heartbreaking story of the woman who kept her humanity in the face of unbelievable cruelty and injustice.” Asia Bibi was sentenced to hang by Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, laws which allow innocent people to be accused and punished unjustly. Many have spoken for her including the Pope yet three years on and she is no closer to freedom. What can we do? I asked this question over and over. When tens of thousands of people can gather to call for the death of one woman, where are the crowds to call for her release? If the west is so large and so strong why can’t we free her?”

Bibi was working in the field and became thirsty and went to the nearest well to get a drink of water. Two other women saw her drinking from the well and called it Blasphemy  Bibi’s life turned upside down. A large crowd accosted her, and she was found guilty to be sentenced to hang. Two public official spoke out against this unjust sentence and were murdered. A Pakistan government official spoke about the unfairness of Bibli’s imprisonment. She later was murdered.

Bibli was moved by the Pakistan government out of embarrassment and placed in a remote prison with hopes someone would poison her. Her family live in fear and in hiding. Bibi dictated this story to her husband for four of the many years she stays in jail. The book is called, Blasphemy: A Memoir: Sentenced to Death Over a Cup of Water Paperback and Kendal by(Asa Bibli, Author,  Anne-Isabelle Tollet,  Author) http://www.Amazon.com

I hope those of you who read this blog will consider the buying the paperback or get it on Kendal. This is something we can all do to in a small way  help this poor family.

Consider

I given you a few incidents with many more occurrences found if a goggle search is made. I described only a few of the atrocities of what is taking place in our world. What surprised me is murder by an Islamists in this country. I have a hunch this is only an genesis of what will come to myr/your nearest neighborhood.

Remember what the professor said we are nothing but property and expendable if we refuse to convert to  Islam. I wonder how many of us are going to for the sake of our belieft/our religious beliefs be willing to watch someone chop off the head of our daughters or grand daughters?

Please leave me your comments. I’d love to read them. Until the next time, we connect which is set for Sunday, September 22, God Bless you and this country.

CHILD BRIDES – SISTER GIRLS FIVE ASPECTS REGARDING THEIR LIVES

Image

A few days ago, I read about a young eight-year-old child bride in Yemen who died on her wedding night of internal bleeding uterine complications. Her groom was five times her age.

My mouth flew open, and my stomach turned into a knot. How dare he, I thought. How could he? I made a point of finding out why this little girl died in excoriating pain and the reason for her marriage at eight. I thought of my daughters, my grand daughters who at eight played with Barbie Dolls, line skated, rode their bicycles, and had sleepovers’ with a bunch of giggling girl friends.

1. WHERE DOES THIS HAPPEN?

Here is the list of twenty countries with the higher percentages of girl brides (2013 statistics)

Nigeria 75%

Central African Republic 68%

Chad 68%

Bangladesh 66%

Guinea 63%

Mozambique 56%

Mai 55%

South Sudan 62%

Burkina fasa  52%

Malawi 50%

Madagascar 48%

India 47%

Eritrea 47%

Somalia 45%

Sierra Leone 44%

Zambia 42%

Nepal 41%

Dominican Republic 41%

Ethiopia 41%

Nicaragua 41%

If countries do not enforce age of consent to marry, by end of the decade 142 million girls will be married under the age of 18. One out of three girls lives in countries that allow girl bride ceremonies to occur.

2, WHAT ARE THE REASONS FOR FAMILIES TO MARRY THEIR GIRLS EARLY?

Girls are not assets even though they receive a dowry.  Some of the reason are this is a tradition. I remember viewing a National Geographic show on TV and watching child brides get prepared for their wedding. They were laughing and smiling, and never did I consider the plight of these young girls. There are social stigmas attached to older women who are beyond the marriageable age.

3.  WHAT HAPPENS TO THESE GIRLS?

They find themselves trapped forever in a life of poverty like their mother and their mother’s mother and so on.

Education stops as soon as they are married. After all, their responsibility is to their husband and they must accept the role of a wife. If not, they’ll receive a beating, or they receive beatings for just the heck of it. For many they have no where to turn.

They have early pregnancies. Girls under the age of 15 are five times more likely to die during childbirth.

The girls suffer from obstetric things like fistulas and urinary prolapses.

Here is another story about a young Ethiopian girl who married at 13. She became pregnant and lost her baby. Because she ended up with a fistula, her husband divorced her. Finally, she was able to obtain a surgery. Again, she was married and lost her child. After her childbirth, she obtained another fistula, and once again her second husband divorced her. She supported herself as best as she could on petty trade. She continued in this manner on bare existence. Until she meant an agency, who gave her psychological treatment and helped her rise above her poverty.

4. WHAT ARE THE ARGUMENTS SUPPORTING CHILD BRIDES?

It is tradition or “ethnic identity.” A girl is safer married from all sexual predators. But what about the brother of the groom who forces sex on the brother’s wife? She is beaten. After all this is her fault.

5. WHAT LIES AHEAD IF THINGS CHANGE?

Girls can receive an education and have a positive impact on health, economy and poverty reduction for themselves and their communities.

There is hope some of these countries listed who have child brides are passing laws to raise the age of marriage for girls. The problems I see with this are who is going to enforce this? Is it only after a death of a child that the community, her country and the world becomes alarmed?

Two years ago, US passed an International law protecting girls by passing the Preventive Child Marriage Act and Violence Against Women’s Act, which addresses child marriage in our foreign policy.

My hope is these little girls can one day enjoy a sunny day and be allowed to grow and learn through ,education so they can make an influence on their communities and their country. I hope one day instead of being a little bird with a clipped wing, these girls can fly and soar to heights for themselves and humanity. Let their be no limits.  In the mean time, my sister girl bride, I can pray for you and this is what I’m going to do.

(All information and statistics came from  http://www.girlsnotbrides.org

I would love to hear what you think of this. Leave me a commit. I’ll next blog on Tuesday, September 17.  In the mean time, God Bless you all.

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 NOW A CHANGED COUNTRY

Image

Today I watched the TV screen of the crash of the Twin Towers again. I heard the ringing of the bells and the symphonic music playing in the background while the names of the heroes and heroines who were murdered twelve years ago were read off by love ones as happens anuually since this tragedy.

Tears sped down my face like they did the eventful day.  I remember leaving USF numb, afraid and angry. I’m still angry. I stood in line to give blood in case someone might need my O positive gift. Fortunately, none did, but sadly, the incident instead of maiming people killed them all.

Again, I wept when I observed bodies jumping out of the towering inferno, and I knew they were going to smash to the ground. My husband said, “Sharon, you’re getting old, and this is the reason why you‘re crying.” I say I weep for a nation for the innocence our nation lost. I weep for the changes in our country.

I morn for a once great country which stood proud now bought to its knees by its leaders. I weep because of a President who could not at first as a candidate pledge Allegiance to the Flag as a supposedly American. I sat in sorrow for the four Americans who lost their lives in Benghazi while their president, the next day went to Nevada to campaign  A Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, who in her callousness let her so called friend be murdered while she did nothing. After all, “What Difference Does It Make?”  Now, she hopes Americans will vote her in as the next president of United States.

I grieve for the invasion of my privacy all in the name of possible invasion.  Yet, we are allowing Muslims to flock in by the grooves. They have an agenda according to their book they call the Koran, and this is to kill the infidel. They murder anyone who will not denounce their faith and become Muslims. I realize in horror the ulterior motive of this group of people as they invade our court systems in an attempt to change into their law-The Sharia Law. Where they can murder their women if they are raped or stray.  If a woman walks down a sidewalk unaccompanied by a male relative or husband, they can lose their life at best receive a severe beating. Where beatings are acceptable. Where female circumcision is practiced with a knife and/or a razor blade while the family observes the procedure. So much for female sexual pleasure. Yet, these dogs can screw around to their hearts content and bring home sexual diseases.  Guess who is blamed for this?  Of course the woman. Where women have to cover up out on the street no matter the temperature. The children are taught to hate. So much for a religion that I know that says eye for an eye or worse.

The country I knew has convoluted. Now Tea Party Members and Christians are considered terrorists.  Anyone against the President and his cronies now find themselves under the watchful eye of Big Brother. Is this what the Romans faced so long ago? Did those patriots weep for their nation as they saw the writing on the wall?

I stand in fear as I watch my nation implode from immorality and the once Christian church is cold at best lukewarm. I do not see us Christians taking stands against the millions if not billions of innocent babies who are aborted every year. Many of this is for convenience. I wonder why from the pulpits there isn’t a cry of indignation ringing out across our nation.  Isn’t this what happened in Nazi Germany?

I know I generally only blog twice a week, but I sat in silence with my heart breaking for my country, and the people in our once great country. I honor the fallen men and women who gave up their lives for their country. May my God give mercy to this country that I’d gladly give up my life to help make the wrong right and right now wrong.

I’ll blog next on Sunday, September 15. Until then God Bless you all.  Tell me what you think or disagree with. I’d love to hear your opinions.

WEIGHT LOSS DIETS, POTIONS AND EVERYTING ELSE

Image

According to Marketdata Enterprises, a market research firm, so far in 2013, Americans have spent over $60 billion to lose weight in one form or another. For some time, I’ve found various commercials amusing which encourage weight loss. Maybe, I’m too old and heard it all to be fooled.

No longer do women have to be married to Mr. Bowling Ball or Mr. Nine Months Pregnant who doesn’t’ have a vagina. Not only have women joined the band wagon, but men joined along with us. Now the whole cotton pickin’ country’s taken a ride. In fact, they had to build a bigger cart.

1.  DIETS

When I researched on the web, I found over 200 diets each proposing to be the one and only diet to finally at last help you lose the unwanted weight and inches. Now, let me not mislead you, I‘ve tried a lot of them

As a young teenager, my parents, and I went on a grapefruit diet for two weeks. We were not suppose to eat any starches nor any type of sugars. I might have lost ten pounds. I wasn’t what you would call fat, but curvaceous.

I rather enjoyed the fellas ogling my well developed shape. When, tall, sleek, stick people became the fad, I hated what God gave me. I naturally swished and swayed down the street while those skinny females sashayed. Ugggg!!!

There are hundreds of diets endorsed by docs of all kinds.  From popular TV host physicians to those I imagine paid for their PhDS and received them in the mail. One of these diets encourages the consumption of baby food.

This is the latest fad diet of the movie stars. Now, I always thought about tasting the food in my kid’s food jars when they were babies, but I never could quite get the spoon into my mouth. Gave me meat, vegetables and fruit to chew.

There’s the Rice Diet, Banana Diet and the Belly Fat Diet.  Now, this one I might consider if I was shopping for diets. There is the Personality Type Diet and The Shape Of The Body Diet. You know some women are shaped like pears. Some women are shaped like apples. Maybe the slender women are shaped like bananas. Come to think of it, this is a very prejudice diet. What about the men?   I’ve never seen a pear shaped man nor an apple shaped man. There also is a Blood Type Diet. Oh yes, Word War II Rations Diet is another fad diet. Do any of them work? I guess so if you stick with them. However, when we quit, many of us go back to eating like we always did.

For those of us who have to suck our cheeks in and wear one those hidden tags that streeeeetch our facial skin tight to look thin, we tried them all. I became involved with the cabbage soup diet. Loved the diet at first. You eat the soup before you consume your regular lower, caloric meal. It worked until I couldn’t stand the smell of cooked cabbage let alone eat it. Then there were the cookies and candies that were suppose suppress one’s hunger. The idea was to eat these scrumptious tidbits of food before you consumed your meal. The problem with both of these, the dang things tasted too good, and I ate more than I was suppose too.

2.  WRAPS AND POTIONS

Wraps help to reduce inches in certain needed areas. For me the problem is like many of us, we would need wraps from head to toe. We’d look like mummies. “Hi honey! I’m hom,” our husbands say coming home while you rush to greet them stiff legged and stiff armed to give him a kiss.

The potion could be something like coconut oil guaranteed to help a person lose inches. Just apply it topically, and voila, you can now fit into the size one dress you kept in the corner of your closet.  The jury is still out on this one.

3.  INJECTIONS

The injection of pregnant woman’s urine. What, you say? Yup, a person injects a stranger’s urine into their system. This claim to thinness existed since the 50’s.  In  my desperation to lose weight, I began the injections in the 70’s.  The diet worked too good.  I became slender.  A month or so later after injecting this stuff, My husband heard the news, “Honey, I‘m pregnant.” I never thought of it, I could have sold my urine.

The diet plus injections still exists. However, this is rather expensive from $650 to $1000 a month for these injections plus a person must follow a 500 calorie diet which isn’t too healthy. Now, I might consider the injections.  However, I’m not sure of the effect of injecting expectant woman’s urine. I became with child once, I don’t want to take a chance with this stuff. Not at 60 plus. Nope, on second thought, you got the wrong gal.  I’ll pass on this.

4.  PILLS

Then there are the magic potion pills we swallow in hopes of becoming a runway model.  There are hundreds of these blogs and advertisements on the web. One hears commercials on TV which suggest that you too can lose fifty pounds in six weeks if you stick to a smaller intake of calories and take the prescribed pills. Eat less lose weight. I think this works, but it does sound risky.

Years ago, my doctor recommended to me fen-phen and Fastin. I began taking the medications and lost my weight rapidly. To me, this was great. I didn’t have an appetite. The weight was falling off, and I didn’t even have to exercise. I stopped taking these medications because I suffered a spell. Later I found out people died from taking these prescriptions and many suffered irrevocable damage.

5.  LIPOSUCTION AND GYMS

I know I shouldn’t associate liposuction and gyms.  I’m talking about joining a gym for a year where monthly payment is automatically taken out of your bank account. A person exercises for a week and stops.  In the meanwhile, the monthly payments keep getting drawn out of your account. . This has happened to me more than once. One might think I’m wealthy that I can throw my money away. In fact, my husband and I about four or five months ago joined a gym. We joined because the gym had a pool.  Due to illnesses, we haven’t been able to go. So, where is all my money going? It certainly is helping me to get in shape, and I’m getting rounder.

Liposuction is something I haven’t considered. Gee, walk into the doc’s office the shape of a ball and come out looking like a stick person. Not a bad deal. Do they do face lifts too? My goodness my husband wouldn’t recognize me.

All kidding aside, the safest way according to most professionals is to follow, with a doctor’s consent, 1000 to 1200 calorie diet and exercise.  You know the routine.  Avoid consuming simple sugars like white sugar and lower ones intake of starches. It works if you work it. Then one needs to commit to a life style change one day at a time. Size three here I come!

Wake Up America Common Core is HERE!

Image

According to Washington State Educational Board, “Common Core is a real world approach to learning and teaching.”

Every state in the Union except for four states has accepted this new school system. This program’s initial, national estimate cost is $1,024,163,000.

This new educational system was not voted on by the school systems in this country, but mandated by the federal government with a promise of millions of dollars coming to the states.

One of the problems I have with this promise is where is the money coming from? Oh yes, I know we keep manufacturing money without the currency having any value. I guess something like monopoly money.

FOUR HUNDRED POINT ASSESSMENT

This assessment occurs from K through high school.

Subjects covered are interpersonal relationships in their home of the child.

Including such things as what is the political persuasion of your parents?

Do your parents attend church?

How do you feel about the opposite sex, transvestites, cross dressers?

Diseases, Illness or Health conditions are going to be included in this data.

What is your bus route, Bus stop and Arrival Time?

I wonder if a child in the lower grades of school would even know what a transvestite or a cross dresser is.

THIS QUESTIONNAIRE IS PERFORMED WITH OR WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT

.

YOU MAY ASK THEQUESTION HOW CAN THEY TELL IF MY CHILD TELLS THE TRUTH OR NOT?

Cameras will video the facial expressions of your child.

Your child will sit in a posturing chair, which registers pressure mounts.

Your child will wear a wristband that will register their skin perspiration. All this information is going to follow them from Kindergarten through life.

Two well-known professors after authoring the Common Core manual refused to sign off because it was changed after they wrote the manual. They are Dr. Sandra Stottsky in charge of writing the components of literature, and Dr. James Milgran, Professor of Emeritus from Stanford. Both feel what is being pushed is inferior to the present education offered.

Although this system is without benchmarks, it professes to advance our children’s education. However, new eighth grade level is going to be two years behind their now counterparts.

LET’S DISCUSS A FEW OF THE SUBJECTS OFFERED.

History –

Education begins with Kennedy. Yup, you got it. Our children will not learn about the American Revolutionary War, our Civil War, World War I and World War II as well as the Korean War.  What happens to the heroes of these wars? Will the plaques dedicated to these heroes be torn down? There’ll be any national pride. This needs to be stifled since we are entering a World education.

English

Students no longer will be encouraged or assigned reading of the classics. If a child shows an interest, then they will be given a literature manual. They will not focus on writing sentences correctly and using correct spelling. Hmm, I wonder what’s going to happen to all our libraries. A generation of people who don’t read. Will books at first gather dust and then disintegrate. Will the great literature written be placed in a seal proof, micro proof vacuum so they won’t fall apart?

To list but a few of our famous libraries in the states: The Library of Congress, The George Peabody Library in Boston, Boston Public Library and Seattle Public Library. Will they all become historical relics or museums of times gone by?

Math studies

Let’s give an example of a problem 4X3. Of course, the correct answer is 12.  However, if the student inserts 11 and demonstrates the way he arrived at his answer then he will receive an A.  However, if a student answers the question with the correct answer 12, and does not demonstrate his work, then he/she will receive a low grade.

No child will flunk.

A child’s attendance neither has little nor any value. They can skip school entirely or spasmodically attend classes. Teachers are told to pass them and advised not to give them homework for the days missed.

My question is

What is going to happen to our children? Are they going to be come like sheep? Because they certainly are not encouraged to think outside the box. What about scientific exploration, research and development?  What about creativity

The arts?  No more great writers, artists, musicians etc.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Do you want your children to become like sheep? There are pockets of parents rising up against the Common Core, and their state who has incorporated this system.

I’d love to read your comments and answer them as soon as I get them. I’ll next blog on Tuesday, September 10. Take care and God Bless you .
